Rules

- The length and width of every lane in the track should not be
more or less than specified by the IAAF.
- If the participants are more than, preliminary heat events
are held. Top ten of the heat events qualify for the next round.

meter.
- IAAF disallows stepping on the inner line of the track.
- Any athlete who has failed to reach the finishing line is not
given any credit.
- A standard automatic timing device allowed by the IAAF must
be used for measurement of time.
- Any athlete who steps once outside the track boundary is not
allowed to rejoin the race.
- Athletes are allowed to run with spiked shoes.
