regular event in the Olympics ' program. Many records have been made
in various events of cycling in the Summer Games. Here are the
records made by men and women track cyclists in the Olympics.
Men's Olympic Cycling Records
- In men's one kilometer time trial event the current record
holder is Chris Hoy of Great Britain. He won with the timing of
1:00.711 seconds. The event was 2004 Athens Summer Games.
- In men's sprint track cycling event, the record holder is
Gary Neiwand of Australia. He took the time of 10.129 seconds.
The record was made in 1996 Atlanta Summer Games.
- In men's individual pursuit event the current record belongs
to Bradley Wiggins of Great Britain in 2004 Athens Olympics. His
timing in the event was 4:15.165 seconds.
- In men's team pursuit event, the record is held by Australian
team of Graeme Brown, Brett Lancaster, Bradley Mcgee and Luke
Roberts. The timing of 3:56.610 seconds and the record was made
in 2004 Athens Games.
Women's Olympics Cycling Records
- Anna Meares of Australia holds the record of women's 500
meter time trial event. The timing was 33.952 seconds. The games
were 2004 Athens.
- Michelle Ferris of Australia holds the record of track
cycling. The timing was 11.212 seconds and games were 1996
Atlanta.
- Sarah Ulmer of New Zealand holds the record of individual
pursuit. The timing was 3:24.537 seconds and the games were 2004
Athens.
